"We
must develop a great love
for little children because
they
are innocent, and the hope
of tomorrow's society."

e are located on the property of the Sisters of St. John the Baptist
near Providence Rest Nursing Home, in a cozy, two story house facing
Eastchester Bay.
|
 |
We provide a clean, safe, comfortable environment where each child is
respected as an individual. Parents, guardian, teachers and
mentors work together to ensure that our children's learning experiences
result in developmental growth and integrity.
|
 |
Our curriculum is focused on pre-school education, including computer
lessons once a week and a wide range of recreational activities.
|
 |
We provide for the development of the whole child, emphasizing respect
of self, God, others and the environment, self-knowledge, self-esteem
and confidence. Through listening, speaking, writing and
creativity skills, each child develops individually and socially.
|
 |
Each day we follow a flexible schedule which allows for spontaneous
occurrences and impromptu experiences. It includes periods of
active indoor and outdoor play, art projects, story time, quiet time,
rest time, lunch, and snacks.
|
 |
Our unique program is intergenerational. The children have various
opportunities to inter-act with the residents of the Providence Rest
Nursing Home. It provides for the loving care that the residents
can give to the children, who may not be fortunate enough to have
grandparents. For the residents, it has proved to be a new purpose
for living. Research has shown that both generations benefit.
