Dear Friend,

Since its humble beginning in 1921 as the "Little House of Divine Providence," a home for aging women in White Plains, New York, Providence Rest has grown and adapted to meet the emerging needs of the community it serves.  Located on eight acres in the residential community of Country Club in the Bronx overlooking Eastchester Bay, Providence Rest is a 200-bed skilled nursing facility that continues to meet all the needs of those in its care, from the physical and psychological to the social and spiritual.

Inspired by the past, Providence Rest's mission is to minister with respect and dignity to each individual entrusted to us by providing the highest quality of care in a peace-filled, safe and secure environment.  We consider it our privilege to care for each person as God's precious gift of life and love.  We commit ourselves to this mission freely and enthusiastically.

Our physicians and nurses practice the medical arts in the spirit of Christian Love.  Our social workers act as bridge between Providence Rest and families, hospitals and community-based programs for the aged and infirm.  Our rehabilitation therapists work hard to return those in need of short-term care to their normal lives.  Our dietitians see to it that meals are not only nutritious, but medically appropriate.  Our recreation therapists seek to enhance the quality of the day for each and every resident.  Our Adult Day Care program is designed to both meet the special needs of its registrants and to share with their primary care givers some of the responsibilities for their well-being.  Our Child Day Care program nurtures children in Christian values and provides opportunities to participate in intergenerational programs.  Today, Providence Rest is truly no longer exclusively a long-term care facility.

Our renovation and expansion plans are vital in continuing the highest quality of care for future generations.  We invite you to join us in making this commitment to the future.

                                            In Christ we pray,

                                      Sr. Seline Mary Flores, C.S.JB.
                                                                Chief Executive Officer
