Make a Difference in a Life as a Volunteer
At Providence Rest we greatly rely on the generosity of our volunteers to supplement the work of our staff in caring for our residents and providing them with a fulfilling life. We offer a wide range of volunteer opportunities that will leave you feeling good about making a difference in the life of another. If you enjoy spending time with the elderly – chatting and telling stories, reading, going places and helping them remain engaged – please contact us to learn more and see which volunteering opportunities are right for you.
Some of our volunteering opportunities include:
- Lobby Reception and Information Desk – Friendly and outgoing volunteers who greet and direct visitors and family and cover the switchboard on weekend.
- Adopt-a-Resident Program – Socialization is essential to a fulfilling life yet some of our residents do not have family or friends nearby to visit and engage them. While we have a robust activity and recreation program, volunteers who dedicate a few hours per week to a specific resident who looks forward to seeing them make a significant difference in that person’s life.
- Recreation – These volunteers join staff members when taking residents off-campus for recreational activities, such as a show, a visit to a museum, lunch or dinner or just for a walk on a beautiful spring day.
We also work with businesses looking for volunteering opportunities for their employees.
